Accessibility Services

The Fountain Green City Library seeks to make its services, facilities and programs accessible to all patrons, including those who have disabilities.

This means that:

  1. Access to library facilities include ADA parking spaces; automatic entrance doors that are wheelchair accessible; elevators; wheelchair-accessible restrooms, drinking fountains and braille signage.
  2. Patrons may request reasonable accommodations when independent use of library resources and collections proves to be challenging. Reasonable accommodations may include staff assistance for locating or retrieving library materials, on-line catalog searching, or other hands-on library assistance.
  3. Alternate access to information includes large print books; audio books, dvd’s and cd’s.
  4.  Computers offer monitors with the ability to zoom and listen to information.

Library Cards

Library Cards are free to residents of Fountain Green, Wales, Moroni and Chester.  You can fill out a form at the library or print the form here and bring it to the desk at the library.  All library cards are kept on file at the library.

Emails are sent to you with details of books checked out or renewed. Also emailed are book due notices and overdue notices.

Library Books, AudioBooks, CDs and DVDs may be checked out for 3 weeks and are renewable.

A drop box is located in the front stairwell for use during the hours we are closed to return library books.

Fines

Fines for overdue items are 5¢ per day for each item.  Lost items must be replaced or paid for.

Printing and Copying

Copies are now available from hard copies or thumb drives. Printing available for both color and black and white. Prints are $0.25 per page per side.

Computers and the Internet

The Library has 10 public-use laptop computers and 10 ipads. These are free to use at the library by checking out a computer use pass at the desk.

All of our computers and ipads have:

  • Internet access
  • Printing capabilities
  • Word-processing software
  • Spreadsheet software
  • Presentation software
  • Vector Graphics
  • Database
  • Formula editor
  • Media players
  • USB ports, enabling you to work with existing data and save your data.

Wi-Fi

The Library has a wireless network with open access points in the building, so you can surf the Internet with your laptop, tablet, or smartphone anywhere in the building.

Television

The library has a television and a Blu-ray DVD player.  It has the ability to play from thumb drives and computers.  We also have basic CentraCom channels and other channel access.
